Mitchell Mills Obituary

Mr. Mitchell David Mills, age 69, of Battletown, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Louisville, KY.  Mitchell was born March 22, 1952, the son of Richard “Buster” and Josephine Rogers Mills.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, and an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard Lee and Nathaniel Mills.  He is survived by his wife, Missy Macey; four children, Stephen Payne and his wife, Chrishonda Jones-Payne, Mitchell Poole and his wife, Aileen, Victoria Mills Johnson and her husband, Christian, and Tayis Mills; two step-children, Chris and Becca Macey; 8 grandchildren; and a great grandchild; four brothers, Jackie Mills and his wife, Georgia, Thomas E. Stewart and his wife, Bessie, Dewey Stewart and Kenneth Mills; and two sisters, Sherry Mills and Alfredia Mills.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Jade McQueary officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.  A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 1:30 PM. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
