Nancy Ruth (Eldridge) Humphrey

     Mrs. Nancy Ruth Humphrey, age 95, of Battletown, KY, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at her residence.  Mrs. Humphrey was born December 29, 1927, the daughter of Eddie and Susie Eldridge.  She was a longtime member of Macedonia Christian Church.

     Mrs. Humphrey was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Humphrey; two sons, James Edward and Russell Ray Humphrey; two grandchildren, Larry and Sheila Singleton; and her son-in-law, Larry Singleton.  She is survived by four children, Linda Lou (Steve) Hockman, Glenda Sue Singleton, Roy Lee (Sandy) Humphrey, Jr., and Lisa (Paul) James; two bonus daughters, Ruby Allen and Carolyn Trent; ten grandchildren, Brian, Bradley, Stephanie, Robert, Scotty, Cassie, Rebecca, Wyatt, Ethan and Bailey;  20 great grandchildren, Gabe, Taylor, Hallie, Hannah, Seth, Brittany, Sarah, Wayne, Ashley, Jordan, Tyler, Colby, Dakota, Dalton, Dwayne, Riley, Brody, Jason, Emily, and Steven; and five great-great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Matt, Skye, Lilah and Cassian.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Sister Ruby Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in Marve Bennett Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the WHAS Crusade for Children; or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
