Nellie B. "Sandy" (Sheets) Scott

     Mrs. Nellie B. “Sandy” Scott, age 87, of Payneville, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Scott was a member of Payneville Baptist Church, and one of the founding group of members of the Payneville Fire Department.  Her hobbies included fishing and crocheting.  She was not only a wonderful Mom, but Ma, Mamaw, Grandma, Nanie Goat, Goat and Best Friend.

     Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Scott; two sons, Jeff Cheatham and Doug Cheatham; her step son, Harold A. Scott, Jr.; her step daughter, Carol Jean Dove; and her grandson, Brian Kelly Horsley.  She is survived by five children, Darrell (Sharon) Cheatham, Louisville, KY, Terry (Ronnie) Cato, Ocklawaha, FL, Troy (Kim) Scott, Payneville, KY, Tammy (Roger) McIntosh, Webster, KY and Tonya (Wayne) Arnold, Battletown, KY; two step daughters, Joyce and Julia Scott; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy, Travis, Alan, Justin, Michael, Tanya, Dana, Chase, Reba, Erin, Kyla, Michelle and Alex; 13 step grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren, with one on the way.

     Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 2, 2021, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in New Highland Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 8:00 PM on Sunday, and from 8:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.
