Ramona Daisy (Lawson) Benham

Mrs. Ramona Daisy (Lawson) Benham, age 86, of Brandenburg, KY, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Ramona was born March 21, 1937, in the Weldon community of Brandenburg, the second child of the late William Harvey and Louise (Powell) Lawson. 

Ramona was a mother and homemaker for the majority of her life.  Not only did she raise her own children and grandchildren, but also took care of her sister, brothers, nieces, and nephews, and numerous neighborhood kids, like they were her own.  She loved every one of them with everything she had.  Ramona was a lifelong member of the Bethel Methodist Church, having attended with her father from the time she was a small child.

Ramona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Luke Benham; two sons, Mark Wayne Benham and Timothy Lewis Benham; and four brothers, Roger, Burke, Dale, and Clayton Lawson.  She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Ray) Heath, Vanessa (Dennis) Hubbard, and Scott Benham; her grandchildren, Brandy (Jason) Lee, Erin (Greg) Hasty, Keith (Leslie) Benham, Kurt (Helena) Benham, Ciara (Nick) Fuson, and Courtney (Wyatt) Benham; her great grandchildren, Mason and Owen Lee, Valarie and River Hasty, Levi and Jake Benham, Kannon Benham;  her namesake great granddaughter on the way, Eleanor Daisy Fuson; her brothers, James Lawson and Larry Lawson; and her sisters, Lois Dye, Charlotte Lawson, and Edith Darnall. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Bethel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Alicia Akridge officiating.  Burial, will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, and at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Bethel United Methodist Church.
