Mrs. Rebecca Jane (Ray) Stiff, age 87, of Midway, KY, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019, at the Brandenburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 16, 1932, the daughter of Christopher Columbus and Anna Grace (Lancaster) Ray. Mrs. Stiff loved antiquing. She was very creative and thoroughly enjoyed refinishing furniture, homes and various art deco projects. She was a wonderful cook and greatly enjoyed hosting events at her home, especially for her family, who were her pride and joy.
Mrs. Stiff was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Ray Stiff; a granddaughter, Angela Marie Holtsclaw; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James F. Stiff; four children, Debbie Stiff, Doug Stiff, and his wife, Karen, both of Brandenburg, KY, Chris Stiff, and his wife, Gina, Kissimmee, FL; Carol Hubbard, and her husband, David, Mt. Pleasant, SC; 10 grandchildren, Kellee Duke, Jeremy Pollock, John Bruscato, Kasey Reed, Kristin Milner, Jason Stiff, Michelle Biddle, Terri Sciarro, Brad Hubbard and James Hubbard; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; and a sister, Rose Theresa Straney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 30, 2019, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, and at the church from 8:00 AM until the time of mass on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Meade County Clothes Closet, where Rebecca volunteered for many years.
