Richard Burn Dowell, Jr.

Mr. Richard Burn Dowell, Jr., age 91, of Guston, KY, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.  Mr. Dowell was born May 29, 1930, the son of Richard, Sr. and Hattie Lee Dowell.  He was a farmer his entire life.

Mr. Dowell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Frances Dowell; two daughters, Betty Prather and Janie McAfee; three brothers, Lewis, Strother and Jim Dowell; and three sisters, Josephine Madden, Lucille Powell and Christine Bandy.  He is survived by three children, Dorothy (Elroy) Ray, Mary Ledford and Richie (Sandy) Dowell; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Simmons officiating.  Burial will follow in Buck Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday; and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
