Robert Edwin Schmidt

     Mr. Robert Edwin Schmidt, age 77, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at his residence.  Mr. Schmidt loved the outdoors in general, but especially liked to boat, hunt, fish and golf.  He was a member of the Brandenburg Moose Lodge and the Louisville Masonic Lodge.

    Mr. Schmidt was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Justina (Vessels) Schmidt; and his brother, Mickey.  He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Skillman Schmidt; three children, Carolyn Fisher, Charlotte Benham and her fiancé, Rodney Switzer, and Chris Schmidt and his wife, Jodi; six grandchildren, Erica Hager, Derek Benham, Cammeron Fisher, Lauren Johnson, Savannah Schmidt and Christian Schmidt; four great grandchildren, Jade Hager, Easton Benham, Marlee Hager and Josiah Hager; his sister, Theresa Mattingly; and five brothers, Joe, Larry, Frankie, Tommy and Kenny Schmidt.

    In honoring Robert’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation with no public service to be held.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Charities.
