Ronald Lane Willis, age 74, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Louisville, KY. He was born on September 18, 1946 to the parents of Alex Willis and Laura Elaine Sledge. He was a SGT in the United States Army where he served proudly. While in the Army he served as a SGT Intel Specialist. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Sharpshooter Medal. He received an Honorable discharge from the Army in 1968. Upon discharge from the Army, he worked at Meade County RECC, Retired from Civil Service of the Census Bureau of Indiana.
Ronald had a great love for his family. He had a generous heart where he was always willing to help those he came in contact with. Whenever you saw him he had a smile on his face and he filled the room with his infections laugh. He will not be forgotten.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anita Willis; son, Ronald Lee Willis; daughter, Chandra Lapradd; brothers, Charlie Willis, David Willis, and Bernice Willis; sisters, Helen “Sissy” Willis, and Sarah Steele.
He is survived by his brother, Russell Willis, Louisville, KY; sister, Mary Tyson, NYC; daughter, Kimberly Gabriel (Chuck) Radcliff, KY; three sons, William Calvin Willis, Madisonville, KY, Dejuan Beason (Toya), and Shawn Beason both of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Harlan O’Shay Harris, Rex Liverman III, and Alicia (Leah) Ogburn, all of Radcliff, Andrew Styles, Horse Cave, KY; Shayla Cordon, Shawntea Beason and Aaron Beason, Louisville, KY; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Chapel of the Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of service on Wednesday. Burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY with full military honors.
