Ronnie Dean McDowell

     Mr. Ronnie Dean McDowell, age 78, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.  Ronnie was born July 12, 1944, the son of Galeard and Nedra McDowell.  Ronnie worked for Kitchen Kompact in Jeffersonville, IN for 37 years, retiring in 2001. 

     In his early years, he was a member of the Kentucky Ropers Association.  He participated in calf roping and team roping events.  Ronnie loved to travel and when possible, would head West to the mountains.  His greatest joy was simply to spend time with his children and grandchildren.  Family was everything to him.  Ronnie was a steady hand to hold, a true friend.  We will love him and miss him every day.

      Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Bob Goodlett.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue; two sons, Scott McDowell and his wife, Dee, and Chad McDowell and his wife, Christy; one daughter, Holly Wright and her husband, Gene; six grandchildren, Noah (Kecillia), Kayla, Eli (Victoria), Eden, Brendan (Autumn) and Jake; four great grandchildren, Harper, Romie, Malani, Ronnie, and two on the way; two sisters, Glenda Goodlett, Donna (Bill) Beauchamp; one brother, Mike (Doris) McDowell; and several nieces and nephews.

      In honoring Ronnie’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hager Funeral Home.
