SGT (Ret.) Gerald Michael Bertram

     SGT (Ret.) Gerald Michael Bertram, age 72, of Flaherty, KY, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at his residence.  He was born September 16, 1950, the son of Gerald B. and Wilma jean (Lawson) Bertram.  SGT Bertram retired from the United States Army in 1990 after serving his country for over 20 years.  He was also a member of the of the VFW Post 10281 in Vine Grove.

      SGT Bertram was preceded in death by his father; and his brother, Keith Bertram.  He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Bertram; three daughters, Lequita, Chandra and Tonya; his mother, Wilma Bertram; his brother, Rick Bertram; two sisters, Connie (Lionel) Anderson, and Carla Wilcox; three nieces and nephews, Christian Terry, Seth Serrano and Heather Landrum; several grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

      Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
