Mr. Samuel David “Dave” Rose, Jr., of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his residence. Dave was a Vietnam veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. He was a longtime member of the Brandenburg Rotary Club of Rotary International, the Meade County Lions Club, and assisted in starting Civil Air Patrol in the 1980’s. He was a history buff, especially when it came to the Civil War, and also loved trivia, and was considered by many to be an expert. Dave was also an avid poker player.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel David, Sr. and Cecelia Rose; and his brother-in-law, John Boone. He is survived by his loving wife, Jani; his daughter, Heather Rose Morris and her husband, Chad; two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Pierce; three sisters-in-law, Cathy (Bob) Blackburn, Annie (Steve) McDevitt, and Diane Boone; his brother-in-law, Jeff (Elaine) Boone; 13 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews; and two special cousins, Dennis and Denise Raney.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with Chaplain Valerie Goins officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy to Honor Flights of the Bluegrass online at www.honorflightbluegrass.org; to Pets-in-Need Society; or to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
