Shirley Grace (Wagner) Baker

Mrs. Shirley Grace (Wagner) Baker, age 75, of Irvington, KY, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Norton Audubon Hospital.  Shirley attended Wolf Creek Baptist Church.  She loved the outdoors, especially feeding her squirrel, Chippy, and gardening in her flowers.  She enjoyed fine pleasures like milk with ice before going to bed, moon pies and extra mint gum.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Nell Wagner; her husband, Charlie Joe Baker; four children, Robert Lee Baker, Sr., Michael Gale Baker, Ray Edward Baker and Ronnie Lee Baker; her grandson, Thomas Edward Higdon; her son-in-law, Mark Geary; and her brother, James “Buddy” Wagner.  Shirley is survived by her loving companion of nearly 30 years, Sammy Cundiff; seven children, Terry Mark Baker, Charles Baker and his wife, Wendi, Joe Baker and his wife, Sharon, Walt Baker and his wife, Judy, Patty Higdon and her husband, Pat, Barbara Geary and Shirley Yates and her husband, Ronald; five brothers, Gary, John, Wayne, Jim and Rich Wagner; three sisters, Phyllis Goodman, Marg Raymer and Toni Davis; her sister-in-law, Emma Miller; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be privately held for Shirley’s immediate family only.  The service will be live streamed to the Hager Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.  Public visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Monday, and from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the funeral home to aid the family with expense.
