Mr. Stacey “Big Stace” A. Davis, age 55, of New Albany, IN, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, at his residence. Stacey grew up in Meade County, participating in basketball and baseball high school sports. He and his teammates were the first MCHS boy basketball team in history to reach the Kentucky State Sweet Sixteen High School Basketball Tournament in 1984. Through his professional career, Stacey was a respected manufacturing supervisor with companies in the Louisville area. Stacey’s love of music allowed him to cross paths with many bands, and fans, growing many friendships along the way with this common bond. He was always sure to capture a play list from every concert attended.
Stacey was a much loved son, brother, cousin and uncle to his family. He is greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Georgia (Gilb) Davis; one uncle, Ron Bezy; and one cousin, Jodi Bezy.
Stacey is survived by two siblings, George Davis and Ronda (Davis) Knutson and her husband, Jim; one aunt, Pam (Gilb) Bezy; four cousins, Mendy (Bezy) Anderson and her husband, Marcus, Lisa (Gilb) Downey and her husband, Wayne, Tim Gilb and his wife, Hope, and Tracy (Bezy) Allen; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg. Public visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the time of service on Wednesday.
