Viola Yvonne “Vonnie” Fackler Barr

Mrs. Viola Yvonne “Vonnie” Fackler Barr, age 77, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on November 9, 2019. She was born on September 14, 1942. Vonnie married Joseph Lawrence “Larry” Barr on October 1, 1960. For many years, she brightened customer’s days through her work at Vowel’s Liquor Store. Vonnie also drove the Meade County Public Library Book Mobile. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi. When she was not visiting with family and friends on her front porch, you could find her enjoying yard work or bird watching.

Vonnie was preceded in death by her spouse, Larry; daughter, Rebecca; parents, Fred and Mary David Fackler; and siblings, Rita Staples, Richard Fackler and Margaret Sipes. She is survived by four children, Tom Barr (Jen Embry), Paul (Lynette) Barr, Laura Clary, and Eric (Mendy) Barr; 12 grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Reiter, Amanda (Michael) McFadden, Jennifer Benjamin, Rachael Barr (Ben McIntosh), Lauren (Brandon) Bishop, Corey (Amber) Barr, Ryan Barr, Levi Clary, Juli Clary, Madilyn (Tyler) Hayes, Emma Barr and Brody Barr; 10 great grandchildren, Dylan Reiter, Molly Reiter, Adalie Jones, Bailey McFadden, Liam Benjamin, Miles Benjamin, Cate Benjamin, Griffin McIntosh, Beckham Bishop and Cullen Barr; and 6 siblings, Billy Fackler, Joann Waddle, Alliene Stull, Brenda Jarboe, Sandra Sutton and Harold Fackler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Theresa Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi Catholic Church.
