Mr. Vonnie Lee “Jack” Haynes, age 78, of Guston, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his residence. Jack was born August 26, 1944, the son of Johnnie Haynes and Mabel Basham Brown, who both preceded him in death. He was a truck driver for 33 years, retiring at age 70, with a clean driving record. He then worked at True Value Hardware for the next 7 years. Jack loved to work on old cars, as well as working in his garden and mowing his lawn.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, 11 months, and 18 days, Henrietta; his son, Jimmie (Lawanda) Haynes, Alvaton, KY; his two daughters, Jacquie (Seth) Miller, Campbellsville, KY, and Jenna Haynes, Elizabethtown, KY; four grandchildren, Joshua Haynes, Rachael Walton, Stephen Haynes and Kyrsten Cropper; his sister, Gail (Steve) Burnett, Vine Grove, KY; his brother, Richard (Sherrie) Brown, Radcliff, KY; and a special brother-in-law, Joe Logsdon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Travis Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Raymond Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Raymond Cemetery.
