Mr. William R. “Bill” Morgan, age 79, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at his residence. Bill was born on May 6, 1945, the son of Forrest and Jewell Voyles Morgan.
Bill was a member of Ekron Baptist Church. He was also a 1963 graduate of Meade County High School. Bill was a lifelong farmer and loved trucking. One of his favorite things to do at the farm was to drive the semi’s. Bill loved anything involving horses. Whether it was riding, training, or simply grooming, he loved it all. He was an avid collector of antique horse drawn equipment and tack, even turning one of his buildings into his own personal museum of sorts. Mostly, Bill loved his family. He deeply loved his wife and kids, but simply adored his grands and great grands with all of his heart.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Don Richardson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Morgan; three children, Lisa (Barry) Franke, Ekron, KY, Monte (Tori) Morgan, Guston, KY, and Jodi (Aaron) Miller, Brookville, OH; seven grandchildren, Brice (Alex) Franke, Ekron, KY, Quintin (Hayley) Franke, Guston, KY, Jessie (Joel) Nickell, Central Asia, Garrett (Justine) Morgan, Brandenburg, KY, Michaela (Cristian) Hernandez, Ekron, KY, Morgan Miller and Leah Miller, both of Brookville, OH; eight great grandcdhildren, Carson, Ashlyn, Axton, and Hudson Franke, and Lucy Mae, John Luke, Elijah Boone, and Mabel Morgan Nickell; his brother, Marshall “Shorty” (Deloris) Morgan, Guston, KY; his sister, Helen Richardson, Guston, KY; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Ekron Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom Bridge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Ekron Baptist Church.
