Mrs. Wilma Jean Simmons, age 89, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY.  Mrs. Simmons was born on June 12, 1936, in West Point, the daughter of Ernest and Virgie (Greer) Wardrip.

      Wilma served in many roles throughout her lifetime. She was the owner of Simmons Tax Service for many years. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her most important role was serving others as a pastor’s wife and Sunday school teacher in various, different churches during her lifetime.  Wilma was very active with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and Salem Association of Baptists.

      Wilma was preceded in death by her parents.   She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Simmons; and her sister, Louise Wardrip of West Point.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Big Spring Baptist Church, with Rev. Dale Fleener officiating.  Burial will follow in Buck Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and at the church from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Wednesday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention online at sbc.net or through any of the Southern Baptist member churches.
