Hager Funeral Home provides a wide selection of caskets to meet the individual needs of each family that we serve.
Caskets are constructed primarily of two materials, metals and woods:
Metals: The finest metals are constructed of bronze. Following bronze in quality is copper, then stainless steel and regular steel. Regular steel caskets are further broken down into gauges: 16, 18 or 20 gauge. 16 gauge is the heaviest and thickest, while 20 gauge is the lightest. The majority of metal caskets are gasketed.
Woods: Wooden caskets are constructed different woods, such as Mahogany, Cherry, Oak, Walnut, and Poplar. The wooden caskets are not gasketed.
We also offer a variety of outer burial containers and burial vaults. These vaults are of heavy concrete construction. Although not required by law, most cemeteries require the use of a burial vault.
